Poland

Poland, Poland, Poland! Ladies and Gentlemen I would love to introduce an outstanding, preposterous, insane, and lovely game that Brandon introduced to me. The name of the game is not one that I know. But is that important? Hell no.

So here it goes, it started off a little over 48 hrs ago. I get this phone call from no one else other than Brandon. He explains to me some idea that he got in his head for this game. I'm still not sure of the point for the game other than to be fun, but allow me to quit pussyfooting around the subject and get into the meat. One person sends another person a text message of a phrase, within 48hrs of getting the message you have to use this exact phrase in a conversation and it has to fit perfectly for the situation.

Given these rules i figured this game would end up fun and decided to go forth and play. Not long after the phone call I received a message on my phone made of text. It read as follows "I will concede to that point but I fail to see its relevance to our broader situation my good sir." A fair way to start this game I see.

So fast forward about 28 hours into the game, I'm sitting outside of my work with my boss on one of my many 10 minute breaks that I take and we start discussing war. It's a common material for both of us to be talking about, not because either of us are war mongers, but rather we both enjoy history and obliterating everyone else in the world on any first person shooter. So the conversation is progressing along different Western European Countries, starting in Ireland, and then making its way East, heading for Poland. When it reached Poland we started arguing about the reasons why Poland will never win a war, and then I made a fatal error in this conversation. I messed up my facts about Poland's Sovereignty.

Now this is where I should let you know a little bit about my boss. He is the kind of person who would go out of his way to make you feel like an idiot if you mess up your facts regardless about how trivial the fact is.

Now back to the story at hand, I reffered to Poland being apart of the Soviet Union, which to my own fault was that Poland was it's own country but part of the Warsaw Pact.

Im getting really tried of writing, you know where i threw in the phrase and his reaction was "yeah i guess..."

so heres some movies

I dont know whats up with the last bit of it but the kung fu is awesome.

Babe Ruth was not actually a baby

Babe ruth was not actually a baby or a girl so I don't know why people called him what they did I seriously think its a big bologna sandwich! Baseball doesn't exist it is just a big hoax. I was on Main Street Merced and there was a store that sold wigs and video games I'm not even kidding. Whig Party '08! Vote or die! I'd rather die.

Cannot Escape

I recently learned that the escape key on my desktop can be simulated by pressing ctl+[. I am trying to train myself to stop hitting the escape key thinking that I'm wasting time removing my fingers from the home row. I'm not quite sure if the pinky-pinky combo is quicker but maybe I'll get faster. Anyhow, I couldn't resist the temptation of pressing the escape key so I gave myself some better incentive:

I haven't pressed escape for 2 days now.

Gay Marriage and Facebook

People will think twice about marrying people of the same gender on facebook when it's no longer ironic because gay marriage is legal. Think about it.

New York

I didn't get to go to New York with the rest of the Risk Crew. I went this past weekend and it was pretty fun! It was really cold and I had gotten sick but I got to travel around a little and the little bits that I saw was nice. I might end up there this summer. :).

Washington

I went to Seattle and its pretty. Paul Allen has these museums, the Experience Music Project and Science Fiction Museum. It was pretty fun. At EMP, I played some instruments and learned how to play the blues. You can record yourself playing but I went alone and there were all these rad kids that wanted to go. Maybe next time guys.

Free T-shirts

I was cleaning out my dresser in preparation for the beginning of a new semester and I found an extra large bright yellow T-shirt that said "Cal Football" on the front and had the AT&T logo on the back. Thousands were given out for free at one of our football games. I, being more of a medium type person, have never worn this shirt, nor have I seen them being worn. This got me thinking. Why spend hundreds of dollars printing and giving away T-shirts that no one is going to wear? To me, this seems to be exceptionally poor marketing. I suppose the reason the shirts were extra large was so that anybody could wear them. That's true, but I would say that far less than 1% of the college population is actually an extra-large and wouldn't look ridiculous wearing this giant shirt. So listen up AT&T: If you're going to be cheap bastards and only give away one size, make it a size that people actually fit into, such as a medium or a large. Sure, they'll be too small for some people, but you probably don't want only fat people to wear your shirt anyways.

Poof

I was looking through some of my old math homework assignments and I noticed that I had started to mispell "Proof:" as "Poof" instead. How awesome is that?

Chelsea Clinton

Chelsea Clinton came to my apartment today. She talked about her mom's campaign.

How surreal.

Winter Quarter Biz

Hi all.

I started my winter quarter and it has been pretty busy already. I'm not taking that many classes this quarter because of things like the GREs, projects, and job hunting. I really want to take a math class this quarter, but it is most likely for the wrong reasons.. (how can you *not* take a class titled: "analysis on manifolds"). My roommate keeps talking about taking "cocktail classes" because his parents don't think that his classes are interesting enough to talk to relatives about. I think "analysis on manifolds" is worthy of making its way into any conversation.

Anyhow, I've been applying to a bunch of places this summer. I think the most interesting and different one for me has been pixar. I originally wanted to go in as a software engineer, but the recruiter convinced me to try to put a portfolio together so I could be considered for more positions. Here is my awesome portfolio. The videos are definitely worth watching, especially the one for FIRST robotics.

Winter break needs to come back like a boomerang.

Out.

Eddie's post

Did anyone else notice how Eddie's cracker box says "New!" in the upper right hand corner and "Original" right in the middle? Well if that doesn't appeal to all possible demographics, I don't know what does.
