Free T-shirts
I was cleaning out my dresser in preparation for the beginning of a new semester and I found an extra large bright yellow T-shirt that said "Cal Football" on the front and had the AT&T logo on the back. Thousands were given out for free at one of our football games. I, being more of a medium type person, have never worn this shirt, nor have I seen them being worn. This got me thinking. Why spend hundreds of dollars printing and giving away T-shirts that no one is going to wear? To me, this seems to be exceptionally poor marketing. I suppose the reason the shirts were extra large was so that anybody could wear them. That's true, but I would say that far less than 1% of the college population is actually an extra-large and wouldn't look ridiculous wearing this giant shirt. So listen up AT&T: If you're going to be cheap bastards and only give away one size, make it a size that people actually fit into, such as a medium or a large. Sure, they'll be too small for some people, but you probably don't want only fat people to wear your shirt anyways.
